Skardu is a city located in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan, and serves as the capital of Skardu District and the Baltistan Division. Skardu is situated at an elevation of nearly 2,500 metres (8,202 feet) in the Skardu Valley, at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers. The city is an important gateway to the eight-thousanders of the nearby Karakoram mountain range. The
Indus River running through the region separates the Karakoram from the Himalayas Hunza is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Hunza is situated in the extreme northern part of Pakistan, bordering with Xinjiang region of China through Khunjerab Pass. The Naltar Valley is a valley situated about 34 kilometres from the city of Gilgit. It is a forested region known for its eye-catching mountainic scenery and for the three famous lakes-Satrangi Lake, Blue Lake and Bodlok Lake. In Winters, An international ski competition is held at Naltar Ski Resort.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Fly to Skardu
Catch morning flights to Skardu. Reach Skardu airport, Pickup from airport by guide or driver, and travel to Shangrila lake. Visit Upper Kachura lake and Shangrila Lake and spend rest of the day there. Night stay in Skardu/Kachura

Day 2:

Travel to Shigar and Mantokha
Breakfast in hotel and travel to Shigar fort, visit Sarfaranga Cold desert and Manthoka Waterfall on way. Night Stay in Khaplu

Day 3:

Visit Deosai or Kharpocho Fort
Breakfast in hotel and explore Sadpara lake, Kharpocho Fort, Shiger, Blind lake, Katpana Cold desert and local Skardu. (Explore Deosai Plains if open and spend full day at Deosai and Sheosar Lake). Night stay in Skardu
